Meet Dr. Innocent Njoku

Dr. Innocent Njoku is a Cornell-educated former neurosurgeon turned health-tech entrepreneur and founder of Njoku Strong, an innovative fitness technology company. He’s also the brother of Cleveland Browns Pro Bowl tight end David Njoku.

His journey, from medicine to startup founder, shows students how STEM knowledge can open doors in:

  • Neuroscience and medicine

  • Health-tech and wearable devices

  • Data and performance analytics

  • Entrepreneurship and innovation

Students see a live example of how STEM can move you from the operating room to the tech lab to the business world.

  • Career-connected learning events

Day-Long Hands-On Workshops

After the assembly, students rotate through hands-on STEM stations that bring “strong” to life:

  • Sports biomechanics & physics

    • Analyze movement, balance, and force behind athletic skills

  • Wearable technology & data analytics

    • Use real or demo devices to explore how athletes track performance

  • Sports medicine & human physiology

    • Investigate heart rate, reaction time, and injury prevention

  • STEM career pathway connections

    • Map each activity to real jobs in sports medicine, biomechanics, software engineering, data science, and more

Why This Matters

93% of students say they want to pursue a STEM career after participating.

67% report feeling very confident building, experimenting, and solving problems.

Connects sports passion to real-world STEM workforce opportunities.

Features a powerful role model with Cleveland connections.

The Science of Strong taps into that same model: take the energy of sports, pair it with real-world STEM, and give students a clear line of sight from the classroom to future careers.

Across STEM Playbook programs, students don’t just have fun, they change how they see themselves in STEM:
